DJM 900 NXS2 Paint on the faders fading
I've had my unit for a year. The paint on all the volume faders is coming off terribly. I now try to touch them as minimally as possible for fear more will fade away. I also have a DJM 900 NXS that's 4 years old and all the lines are pristine. The paint finish on the older unit was so much more robust.
I suppose I could have the whole cross fader plate swapped? Have they fixed the problem so a new plate wouldn't wear like this?

To be honest, I would have suspected that mixer to be years old, not just one year. Unfortunately as you're beyond the 1 year mark, it's not something that could be covered by warranty. I don't know that a replacement faceplate would be any less or more durable than what you already have, and the cost on a replacement part may be prohibitive (never mind difficult to obtain).
My personal recommendation would be to consider a "skin" (like a vinyl decal, custom cut for the size of the 900NXS2 and all its buttons/knobs), as they're reasonably priced and you can customize the graphics.
