DDJ 1000 Sampler Issue

I recently purchased a used DDJ 1000. 

Everything works perfectly, with one exception. 

When I select the SAMPLER button (to engage the sampler pads), it does not select that function. 

All of the other functions work, except the SAMPLER button. 

Additionally, if i try to manually select the SAMPLER from the software....there is no option for SAMPLER (it does from Hot Cue, Pad FX, Slicer, Beat Jump, Beat Loop) 

I am running the software on the CORE PLAN. 

Navigating the settings, I cant seem to find any adjustments that could rectify this issue. 
Any input is GREATLY appreciated.
