DDJ 1000 LED issue on pads
Wondering if anybody has any suggestions, I bought a DDJ 1000 second hand a few weeks ago. The controller works perfectly with the exception of the top 2 (to the left) pads on deck 1/3 which I only noticed the other day as I started to play a bit more with the features. The pads function as they should in Rekordbox when pressed (such as triggering hot cues or effects) however I suspect there is an LED that’s failed in them, they don’t seem to use the blue LED at all, even on boot up when all other pads are blue they are green, when idle all the other pads are a full purple colour but they are a dull red colour which makes me think it’s an LED fail (I assume the dull purple requires the blue LED). I tried reinstalling firmware to ensure it wasn’t an issue there but no change, it’s not a big enough problem to spend money getting it repaired (unless it was a cheapish fix) but I’m just wanting to check I’m not missing anything stupid and that it’s definitely a hardware issue and not a software problem, has anybody else experienced this.

Hey Kevin,
From what you describe, it certainly sounds like a failed diode on the RGB LED. Your controller would certainly continue to work properly (apart from odd colours) -- I have the same problem on my 2nd pad of my DDJ-SX2, the yellow no longer illuminates.
It's probably not worth the hassle to get it repaired, as it would be a hardware fix, not software. Sorry.
Thanks @Pulse, that’s what I suspected, it makes little difference to the functionality of the unit so I don’t think I’ll pay for a repair, just wanted to be 100% sure I’ve not missed anything so thanks for confirming.
Nope, should be all good. Enjoy!
