DDJ 1000 Tap function / delete automatic Cue point

Dear All,

i have a lot of fun with my DDJ 1000, but iam pretty disappointed about the manual, which is by far not deep enough into the functions.

I tried to use the Tap function, by pressing shift, and then tap the beat. Nothing happens, the field underneath the Beat Grid does not highlightg when tapping - what am i doing wrong?

Next thing is, that i have to delete the automatic Cue Point after loading by pressing Shift and Cue, can i switch this automatic off?
