Update Manager

Any way of disabling "rekordbox Update Manager"?

It's a chore keep closing the dialog box every time I start rekordbox.

Should have an option in the settings for this.

Here's a work-around provided by one of the rekordbox engineers...

It is possible to hide the update window by renaming Update Manager.

With Windows, you can find Upmgr rekordbox.exe in rekordbox installed folder.

With Mac version, Open package contents of rekordbox.app (right click), you will find  Upmgr rekordbox.app in Contents > MacOS.

There used to be a check-box at the bottom "Don't remind me again" -- is it no longer there? Which version are you currently using?

Shªun_N

5.0.2

Check box no longer there, but in fairness, when the checkbox was there in previous versions it made no difference - it was checked to not prompt again but still did.

Ah, I figured out why mine never asks me when I launch old versions (I keep multiple installed) -- I've got a rule in LittleSnitch blocking the update manager, so it doesn't pop up the box.

Shªun_N

Is LittleSnitch something I can use then?

Pulse

It's a 3rd party firewall software (I love it), it's not free, but something I suggest for Mac users!

I've also put it to the rekordbox team to include that checkbox to skip reminding the user for the current version.

Renaming the update manager works.

Nice one!

Should you actually update / install a newer version, you'd have to repeat this process. ;)

Shªun_N

Of course, that's absolutely fine - small work to stop an annoyance :)

No longer works (using Rekordbox 6.2.0)
When renaming the file, Rekordbox crashes on startup

Just download the latest version from rekordbox.com.

SimChris

Well that's exactly what I try to avoid. With my Macbook Air from 2017 (i5 with 8gb Ram) the newer versions of Rekordbox 6 are super laggy.

Is there a new solution to this on Mac since the "work-around" in the "Official comment" is no longer valid?

Why is this just not simply a working feature?

Does Denon force you to click through a nag screen if you have a reason to not use the latest version of their software?
