CDJ 2000 Nexus multiple issues!
Hi all,
I’m attempting to fix a friend’s CDJ 2000 Nexus which has the following problems:
E-8709 error intermittently. I’ve seen a YouTube video about how to fix this using a heat gun to slightly re-melt / re-solder the 2 chips on the main board and am going to have a crack at that. I have permission to do so and my friend understands the risks and is okay with that!
The other problem though I’m not sure how to approach is to do with the jog wheel.
It has become unresponsive both in Vinyl and CDJ mode. Applying pressure will halt the track, however it will not scratch forwards or backwards, nor will the outer ring pitch shift in either mode.
I’m wondering if the two issues are connected or separate?
I’ve attached a YouTube video below demonstrating the issue and I’d greatly appreciate any advice anyone could offer.
Cheers,
Dan

Yes, the issues between scratching and pitch bending would be related -- the difference between the two actions is simply "is the jog switch pressed?" and if so, it scratches instead of pitch bending.
Unfortunately we can't provide any information or instructions on disassembly or repair as nobody here is authorized to provide you with those details, regardless of the desire to potentially damage your mate's player. ;)
