DDJ SR2 TEMPO FADER PROBLEM
Hi,
I called the helpline this morning and didn’t get an answer to this problem. I purchased the unit at Store Dj and they were unable to help as well.
I previously had a DDJ SR and last week ungraded to the DDJ SR2. Everything about the controller is better except one thing. I use serato Dj Pro on a Mac. I have tested both controllers with my current set up and a second mac to make sure it is not a software issue.
The tempo fader on the SR2 is not as precise as the SR. When using it with a tempo range of 8 -/+ it jumps .07 when changing the tempo, when using it with a range of 16 -/+ it jumps .14/.13.
The SR unit tempo range of 8 -/+ moves .01/.02 and at a range of 16 -/+ it is .02/.03.
When moving the tempo fader there is also often a lot of movement before it begins to change the tempo at all.
I can’t believe that a new controller would be released that would be less precise as the model previous.
Am I the only one that is having this issue?
I hope you can suggest a solution?

Well I got my answer, from Serato below....
Shame Pioneer couldn't admit the problem!!
Thanks for getting in touch.
You're correct - there are differences between the accuracy of the tempo slider changes between the DDJ-SR and SR2. The DDJ-SR2 essentially sends 'coarser' MIDI messaging than the DDJ-SR which essentially limits how precise each shift of BPM value can be per a MIDI note. An improvement to this aspect of the hardware, would require a firmware update and action by Pioneer DJ - so raising this with Pioneer DJ is correct route to follow.
Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
It's not that we didn't admit any problem... your post was missed in the tidal-wave of incoming posts we get daily! Sorry!
Having used it myself, I haven't noticed it to be that bad - I don't recall the exact resolution, but I know I was able to get precise enough intervals to beatmatch.
