WD PASSPORT 4TB DRIVE ISSUE
Hi,
I am following this thread and can't understand why the external isn't reading at all either. My PNY drive reads, my sandisk Cruzer reads, but the WD Passport will not. Any updates on this at all Pioneer?
Many Thanks,
Jessica

For whatever reason, WD Passport drives have always been questionable when used with Pioneer DJ products. I'm not sure if there's something about the power draw causing the issue, or if it's a chipset conflict, but that model (in all its variations) has been problematic over the years.
Either ensure the drive is formatted properly (as @George notes, below), or try using a Y-cable to provide additional power to the drive from a wall-adapter.
It may be formatted wrong? It needs to be FAT32, FAT or HFS+ for it to be recognised by your XDJ. Be warned that if you decided to reformat the drive you will loose any data stored on it and you may also need a third party solution to format a drive of that capacity. I have to ask why you need a 4TB drive for your Rekordbox solution? That must one hell of a large library you got there? I reckon that's about enough space for half a million high bitrate mp3s. Large libraries = slower performance so be prepared for that too
