Having problems conneccting my DDJ RR

Hi

When I connect my DDJ RR to my laptop in the bottom right of the screen it flashes in red DDJ disconnected every 10 seconds, I've downloaded the latest firmware and drivers but still cant get it to connect longer than 10 seconds, in that 10 second window everything seems to work on the controller apart from the jog wheels, I've put them in vinyl mode as the blue circle appears on my rekordbox screen but cant cue, scratch or spin back with them, Im also not getting any sound either when connecting throught the amp any help would be greatly received as its driving me nuts now.

My laptop specifications are MacBook pro early 2011 running macOS sierra latest version, 2.5 Ghz intel core i5 processor 4GB memory

I'm running the free trial version 4.5.0 of rekordbox
