I'm not a heavy Dashboard user but today I found out that you can't use it when you're transferring files with Rekordbox. If you try to access it, you're zapped back to the normal desktop after a second, no way to stay at the Dashboard screen. With Rekordbox open without  transferring files it works normally.

That's because of a window-redraw-priority, a silly little bug a bit like the fact you can't move the splash-screen logo or have another window in front of it.  I've noted it with the engineers.
