DDJ1000 PROBLEM: Why is my cross-fader being a helmet?

What's wrong with the cross-fader on my new DDJ1000? It centers almost 4/5 of the way to the right. When fading out of the right hand channel the left hand bleeds really hard even a couple of millimeters and it does not correspond with the graphic interface on the PC screen. No matter which fader setting I use this makes no difference. I paid a lot of money for this unit and this is a massive problem for me. The fader is not balanced and it is not smooth. Anyone else having this bother, and is there a fix for it? Thanks
