CDJ 3000 - standalone use with usb stick only

Hi everyone!

I have a question about using CDJ 3000 player without analysing music in recordbox. I have never used a dj controller in the past and also never used any dj software. I'm not a fan of using laptops when dj-ing. I'm wondering if it's possible to simply put the usb stick in without analysing it in recordbox and use a full potential of the cdj? At the moment when I put the usb stick in it doesn't even display the waveform.

Thanks

Hey Simon,

Sorry - rekordbox is required to perform the analysis of the music (for the waveform and grid) and to create the "export library" (database on the USB drive) allowing you to navigate through more than just files, for example browsing by artist, sorting by BPM or key, etc.

Thank you for your quick answer. I am just wondering how do I use my USB stick with other CDJs? In a club for example? Is my USB stick ready to be used with another CDJs if it's analysed in recordbox?
