DDJ SX-2 computer connection problem
Im using Serato on Windows 10. I bought a used DDJ SX-2 from guitar center. I installed the Driver DDJ_SX2_ASIO. When I connect to my computer, the signal blinks in and out. The lights on the DDJ are flashing through some kind of welcome sequence. Every time it flashes, I can see the DDJ come up on device manager. But then it disappears within a second. While it is recognized, I can see in ASIO that both the driver and Firmware versions are up to date. Whats happening here? When I try to update the firmware (just to see is it helps) I get a message saying the DDJ is not connected. It does not show up in Serato at all. Ive been working on this for hours, reinstalling, restarting computer. I have researched through pages of google with no luck. Could it be the controller?

Have you tried another USB cable / USB port on your computer? That would be an easy start the troubleshooting.
Yeah, I agree. That sounds like an almost definite bad USB cable, maybe a bad connector. The jack is easy enough to replace if you can solder (takes about 5 minutes once the PCB is out).
(30 years PC tech, 20 years DJ saying this.)
The DDJ-SX drivers (what I have) are ancient, and they weren't amazing to begin with, but what you're describing is most likely a hardware/connection issue.
If you're running it through a hub, don't. It needs too much bandwidth from the bus to work with most hubs. Mine works through a USB 3.1, but that's the first one that's even come close...and it glitches out every now and then. I wouldn't trust it for a gig.
