Pioneer DDJ 1000 Questions

Hi, Actually i have the DDJ SX2 but i am about to buy the Pioneer DDJ 1000, but first i want to know certain things, because where i live isn't any posibility to try the controller before buying. So i want to make this questions to anyone that have the DDJ 1000.

My first question is about the Beat FX of the DDJ 1000, the controller is adverticed for have "Hardware FX" but when the controller is used with recordbox, the FX are still Hardware? or they are made inside rekordbox?

My second question is about the soundcard of the controller, i want to know if the mix mode of the controller is Internal mode or External mode? With internal mode i am refering that all the audio mix, Eq, and FX are made inside of rekordbox on the PC and then send to the controller master knob (for example the DDJ SX2). And with External mode i am refering that rekordbox send the audio decks separatly to the controller channels, and all the mix, EQ and FX are made inside of the controller. (for example the DDJ SZ).

For example if some day i want to use the controller with traktor and i try to setup the sound card, i can choose external mixing?

I really Apreciate your answers, thanks.

The FX are hardware-based as a stand-alone unit. Once connected to rekordbox, the FX become software-based.

When the DDJ-1000 is connected, the audio is mixed in INTERNAL mode. The unit is a 12/6 audio device - the 3 output pairs being MASTER / BOOTH / PHONES, so no, there isn't a discrete audio send to each channel of the hardware. You would select the internal mixer mode on Traktor as well.

Saludos.-

Please remember that the joy wheels won't be supported if the DDJ-1000 is mapped to Traktor or Serato.

@DVJ Shaggy > As @Ves says, the DDJ-1000 would work with Serato as a MIDI controller, but unfortunately neither the jog wheels (to scratch or search) will function, nor can you use the audio device for output... so just a clunky MIDI controller.

If you used if with Traktor or Virtual, you could, in fact, use it full-function, but with Traktor you would need to find a 3rd party mapping. Virtual has already provided support for it within their software, just select it from the device list.

@Pulse

About the clunky MIDI controller:
my free DDJ-1000 tractor mapping has Jog screens and Search. MIDI scratch is also there, the exact same method of the official traktor mappings for the SX2 and SZ
