[SOLVED] DJM-400 recording solution needed
Hello to everyone in the Pioneer family;)!
Im a complete novice in all of the cables/interfaces etc.
Atm setup is:
2x CDJ-400 + DJM-400 + 2x Behringer Truth3031a connected using 2 rca -> 2 6.3mm jacks.
Target is that I want to record my mixes from DJM 400.
Problem is that I've got 2 laptops, and none of them have the Line In (just mic in + headphone in)
In this case should I buy an USB audio interface right? how to connect it to DJM-400 and PC and with what kind of cables ... any sort of clear and simple instruction will be more than much appreciated!
thank you and waiting for reply;)

I'd look into buying a external USB sound card that has a line in so you can use the record out from your mixer.
Getting one with RCA (red & white) inputs would be best for quality I think direct from mixer.
Hope this helps.
any suggestions for soundcard?
You need one of these

Come out of the 2nd master out on the djm into the line in on the soundcard

this is just a nice cheap option for you....
the line out/master from DJM wont send too strong signal to this tiny card? what about distortion hm?
I thought about some decent card up to 150pounds/200dollars 24/96 or 24/192 ?
There are many cards out there but you get the idea,
Emu / creative / maudio / motu take your pick
As long as you keep a eye on your levels through the mix it should be fine.
It's a good idea to check with the software what is correct db level for nice clear sound.
Also do a test a recording for a few min before & play back the file to see if its ok.
Also are y asking what format to record at.
I'd go 320kbps every time.
What about focusrite scarlett?
@Bojo > You don't even need to get something that expensive. The Numark Stereo IO Audio Interface would suit your needs just fine.
I think about the decent soundcard for a longer period of time as I study sound engineering and the sound quality is very important for me.. Confused a bit now;)
Ok no worries, if you need any more help feel free to ask.
