Importing from USB
Desperately need some help please.. Is it possible to import the playlists and tracks from my usb back to Rekordbox? Basically My old macbook went bang so lost everything. luckily i had a backup of all my music
i now have a new macbook and reinstalled rekordbox and want to put the playlists i have on my usb back into rekordbox but it wont allow me as its saying the list or my collection is empty. Do i have to import all the tracks again into my collection then import playlist? will that work??
Any advice appreciated as im off to ibiza in 10 days to dj. :-(

Sorry Simon, without a proper backup from your computer, the only thing you really have is tracks on the export device (your USB stick). You'll need to copy them back over to the computer and rebuild the beat grids and cue points.
Browse into the stick, find the music, copy it back into a folder structure you're happy with (or use what's on the stick in its crazy sorted format) then add that music to your rekordbox library and start anew. You'll also need to re-export everything as rekordbox won't recognize your external device as being exported from itself.

is there any reason not to keep the playlists on my usb currently and just add the new ones that i import now
You could keep them on there - if I were you, I'd put that USB drive aside and keep it as-is, using a new device as my export.
