Consistent Freezing Error "Invalid operation. In Sync Mode, tempo slider is only available for master deck"

I bought and started using a DDJ-400 about two weeks ago and in the last week I've started encountering a bug where the software will freeze the music for a second or two while giving me the error "Invalid operation. In Sync Mode, tempo slider is only available for master deck" whether or not I'm touching the controller. I'm playing a song with rekordbox as I type this and the error has occurred three times now without any input on the controller. Is there any way to fix this? As it is now, this is a very frustrating bug that makes the software useless for performing in any way.
