DJM-900 Firmware update issue.

Hey Folks,

I tried calling Pioneer support and after being passed around through all the different departments and wasting 45 minutes of my time I decided to try the forums.

Here is the issue. I am trying to update from 1.1 to 1.2.  I downloaded the firmware and instructions. I have my DJM-900 connected to my mac via the ethernet/Lan ports.  When I head into system preferences -----> network the computer is recognizing the connection but it is not giving me a green list as shown in the Pioneer instructions.  It is a yellow light.  When I try to start the update program it just keeps saying "waiting from DJM-900nexus conneciton."

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?  I have switched cables and tried different ports.

Thanks in advance for any help.

@ Chris The Rebel > In System Preferences - Network - Ethernet - did you select "Using DHCP"?

Do you have any other firewalls running, or any third party firewalls or network connection software running?

When you say you tried different ports, as in different ethernet ports on your computer?

Let me know when you can.

Thanks,

Foster

Hi Foster,

Yes I did select Using DHCP.

My firewall is disabled and there is no network connection software running.

My mac pro has to ethernet ports.  I tried both.

Thanks

@ Chris The Rebele > Hmm, I assume you have the .pdf provided by Pioneer for updating the DJM-900 Nexus and you followed it to a tee?

Sweet, I love Mac Pro's!

  1. What version of OS X are you running?

  2. Have you used the ethernet ports on your Mac Pro before to connect to the internet?

  3. How long have you waited for the DJM-900 to connect?

  4. Did it ever appear a "Connection Error" message on the DJM-900, or just continuously attempt to connect?

Thanks,

Foster

You may have to disable your other networking connections (including your second ethernet port and any airport connections).

Thanks Pulse.  I disabled all the other network connections and it worked perfectly.  1.21 up and running.

Awesome - thanks for reporting back.
