Pioneer ddj-rzx And dmx controller
hello guys, I have a Pioneer ddj-rzx controller and I am looking a dmx controller for my stage lighting. I want to synchronized the light with music and concentrate only on playing. Pioneer released a rb dmx1 driver one year ago. It is dedicated to rekordbox.
What are yours experiences with this device and how it works. I would like to say that I have 5 moving heads ADJ inno spot pro, 2x strobo cameo, 2x flowereffekt, 2x Eurolite LED B-40. I want to buy 4-6 led par. In total, I will be have about 16 lighting devices...
Which dmx controller will be the best. There are many interesting options: myDMX, dashlight etc. What do you recommend?

The RB-DMX1 is great in that your lighting show will be automated in sync with the music with very little programming required. What some users will tell you is that the software lacks the ability to control certain functions, such as gobo, iris, frost, prsim, etc (for moving heads), and FX-type lighting (such as the flower effect) are not supported, so won't function at all. Having a combination of moving heads, pars, and bars will provide the best overall show. But even with that, there is no master fader or static scene creation, which many users desire as well, so it really depends on your needs / wants.
Hi @GreGory_eM, I am in the same situation as you are.
I own an DDJ-RZX and today my lights are controlled by an DMX interface called DMXIS but it requires manual work on preparation (what is not a problem) but also during the gig to control the lights what is not so good because you have to control 2 things at the same time.
I am following all RB-DMX1 and Rekordbox Lightning mode discussions and what Pulse said is exactly the situation, there are some nice videos on Youtube where some people posted tests:

This last video you can watch since the begining and you'll find all details about how to prepate and how to use scripting.
See also these 2 forum posts below that were sent for the guy that created the second video, it has the full details and some Pioneer answers about the solutions of some Bug's

On my researches I figured out that Soundswitch is more mature product comparing with RB-DMX1 + Rekordbox Lightning mode that was launched 1 year ago, the point is that Soundswitch won't integrate with Rekordbox so it is not an option for us.
My main concern is that in 2018 no improvements were implemented by Pioneer in Rekordbox Lightning mode and Soundswitch launched so many versions and improvements and the gap between the products increased.
I have no problem to invest in RB-DMX1 but only if I am sure it will bring some benefit for me and not more problems and concerns, so far no one can prove it for me.

Sérgio
I will look through the links you wrote. Some have seen. exactly as you're saying. after what you write, I have to seriously consider whether to invest such money (~ 400 €) on this controller if there are such deficiencies in relation to other controllers at a similar price ??? I do not intend to play children's events only seriously invest in equipment and play at large events. the type of music. I play is mainly hardstyle, techno and a little house. you have more experience in stage lighting. I'm just taking my first steps. it would be nice to make contact because I'm curious how your work looks like on ddj rzx and lighting control. my mail is georg.moroz (at) gmx.de.
Best regards
