It turns your stand-alone player/mixer combo into an expensive controller for the software. There are some cool features in the software that the hardware can't do on its own, so there's that ... but honestly. I think it's better on its own or over the ProDJ Link.

I kinda figured that and yeah I love the unit in standalone and use it mostly in my basement with turntables also hooked up. 

My computer upstairs is mainly for production and also where I prep files in rekordbox. 

I'll take it for free, prob worth checking out. I can run audio out of my computer speakers and record in the software right?

Waited 48hours no licence..What happens next..Thanks in advance..

"Application processing could take around a month," Perhaps I was lucky in the quick turn around.  What happens next is that if you filled in the info correctly you should get a license key to rekordbox DJ. 

wow OMG  it takes that long to get a free licence. All i got to say is pioneer your LONG

they didnt' have to give it away for free at all, the device is stand alone after all. IMO a nice bonus even if I did wait a month.

i applied on monday 7th November for the free rekordbox dj key for my xdj rx.

its now thursday 10th November and i still havent received it!!!!!!!

just use usb its better

Yeah, the reason for that is we're being flooded with requests.

Each is a unique request from users asking for their license, so yeah, it could take up to a month to verify your validity and to issue the key.

For what its worth, I requested a license on the first day and got it sorted in a couple of hours. I'm really liking rehearsing a mix in rekordbox with mouse even if I don't drive it from the xdj-rx.

I bought an XDJ-RX in November 2015, but i can still get a free license right??

C'mon Steve, I just posted to another thread where you provided some good insight on why their USB drive might not be able to record ... I thought more of your technical ability to read a webpage. ;)
