How is "DJ play count" calculated in Rekordbox 3?

As I remember it, in the not so good old times with Rekordbox 2, "DJ play count" was calculated from the "History" playlists. After fiddling around with a quite fresh install I can report that that isn't the case with Rekordbox 3. After a recent change to proper equipment after year on the dark side, I have only one gig in the history but DJ play count at 5 on a few songs. I know I didn't repeat myself that bad last Thursday, so where does this number come from? I'm pretty sure I did a few trials with this particular tune so my suspicion is old deleted histories that stick to the play count...
