Stiff tension on CDJ after spilling a bit of soda
First off, everything works fine (platter, buttons, lights, usb, cd drive, on/off button), for now, and I'm glad nothing serious came of this.
I was DJing an event and some prick accidentally spilled a TINY amount of pop on my platter. It looked like some of it got inside the jog wheel (I could see residue along the rim).
When I got home I noticed that the platter on that cdj was a LITTLE more stiff than my other cdj, a very slight difference. Everything works fine, and there are no issues. However, I am pretty upset that the platter is a little more stiff and I was wondering what could happen if I don't clean it. Do i have to clean it? Will it eventually wear out, and how much would it cost to clean it. As I stated, there are no issues. I played for an hour when I got home and the only concern is the tension. There are no strange sounds, broken parts, and the platter is responsive.
