Problem seting up ERGO [Audio Monitoring]

Hi,

I just bought the DDJ Ergo to use it with my Mac. My Mac Mini is connected to my LCD TV via HDMI and my TV to my Home Theater via HDMI too.

When I started to use the Ergo, I just can hear the music in one device according to the configuration menu: via headphones connected to the ergo or thru the HomeTheater. I can't pre-hear (or pre-cue) to monitor the songs. I just can't hear music in TV/HomeTeather and Headphones at the same time. What am I doing wrong?

Do I have buy another stuff to make it work like it is supposed to do? I'm using Traktor 2.5 software.

Thanks in advance.

You need to configure the audio output within Traktor properly... Watch this video around 6:10.

'Sup, Pulse?

I already did so, but still can't make it work like it is supposed to do. What can be wrong?

Christian Torres

This is the settings menu: When I select HDMI, I hear the music thru my HomeTeather. If I select Pioneer DDJ Ergo I can hear the music thru the headphones connected to the DJ controller.

What's wrong? Please help.

If you want the main/master audio through HDMI you should set the Master Output to your HDMI device. Keep the monitor output through the ERGO and connect your headphones to the jacket on the ERGO. That should do the trick.

So I have to buy an RCA cable and connect the ERGO to my HomeTeather with it, right? Or is just a Traktor/Mac/HomeTeather Config?

Jeroen Sleur

I had a look at my DDJ-T1. And it looks like you're unable to route the master output to your computer (both PC and Mac). There's only a choice for Phones Output (cue monitor) and Master Output (RCA on the console). Nowhere a selection for local computer audio. So you need a RCA cable for sure to connect the output from the ERGO to your home theater.

@Christian > Simply configure the audio output for an advanced configuration and use whatever connection you have (presumably the computer's main soundcard output) to be the output for the master while the monitoring remains on the headphone output of the ERGO.

Christian Torres

Just as Jeroen said, I can't make it work via HDMI the master output and the ERGO via headphones at the same time. I guess is impossible. I buy a RCA cable and now is just working fine. Thanks for the replies, I'm sure this will work for future questions.
