Frozen XDJ RX2 freezes in Midi Mode

While playing using the RX2 in Midi Mode , the controller just froze up  and audio was cut off . Had to re-boot .  Rekordbox software ( on Windows 10 ) did not seem to even stop playing and everything seemed to be  fine on the laptop side . 

This happened while practicing at home and even worse while opening a gig.

I saw some posts earlier reporting the same issue but no fix was indicated by Pioneer. Please let me know what could be the issue ?
