Ableton Link Sync Issues

It's great that Rekordbox has Ableton Link, but there are some serious challenges with getting link actually in SYNC. because while the clock/BPM is synced, there often needs to be an offset adjusted.  Here are some things i've noticed.

1) Link feature needs the ability to have/retain a master sync adjust. as described here.

2) individual tracks can be link adjusted to be in sync by nudging +/- (the LINK turns yellow indicating this) but when switching LINK on/off or turning sync on/off always locks back to blue and becomes out of sync.  

3)  a way to set the first beat in link, alot of times linked instruments are on the wrong 1 beat.

Who can address this or am I using this incorrectly?
