DDJ Jog wheel MIDI Out (for Ableton etc.) from Rekordbox ??

For years. YEARS. I have been dreaming of controlling automation with my jogwheel scratching (while using rekordbox to output the audio).  

I finally managed to map my DDJ jogwheel to some parameters in Ableton, and found that even with using virtual MIDI ports, Rekordbox refuses to recognize my DDJ as a controller unless it is the primary controlling app. And Rekordbox does not output MIDI from the jogwheels to my knowledge, so if it is the primary controlling app, I cannot then route to Ableton. 

I'm posting this in the hopes someone, anyone, has an answer for this rapidly aging turntablist, or is within earshot of a Pioneer developer to ask them to add this. Syncing clock with Ableton Link is so basic, cmon lol.
