Stagehand application doesn't see DJM A9

Our venue just purchased the DJM A9. We have downloaded the Stagehand app on iPad. I have the mixer and the iPad connected to the same Wifi Router wirelessly. When I open the Stagehand app it does not recognize any devices. What am I doing wrong here?

I thought the point of the A9's Wifi feature was to connect the app wirelessly. I'd prefer not to run a hard line ethernet from the router to the mixer as that poses issues with the way the room is setup.
