DJM 700 - Losing Midi Signal?
I run SSL and Mix Emergency for Video. I have run it pretty flawless for a few years. Recently, I had a few USB drop outs. At the same time, I started having issues with midi, the signal would drop, or I would have to restart midi by plugging and unplugging. I assumed it was my USB port. So I switched them up, bought a powered USB hub, bought new USB to midi cable bought all new cables. I haven't had the USB drop outs but I am still having issues with the midi signal dropping. Is it possible that I am having an issue with MIDI on the DJM-700? Is there a way to test or fix? I love this mixer and don't really want to buy a new one (or a higher priced replacement).

@Jeremy > It could be any number of things, but my first recommendation is to ensure you are NOT using a USB hub to connect the DJM > MIDI-to-USB adapter > computer.
Next, fire up a MIDI monitoring program (such as MIDI-OX on PC or MIDI Monitor on Mac), and check to see when / why the dropouts occur, if any.
Thanks. When not using a USB to Midi adapter, my setup runs fine, no USB drop outs . But I am also not running video.
Thanks for the list of programs I will check that out.
This is what I have done so far:
Replaced cable to Serato Box
Replaced USB Hub
Replaced USB To Midi Cable
Swapped USB ports
I haven't tried using the new USB hub with the new USB to Midi Cable.
I will definitely try the MIDI monitor.
