Yes, Pioneer will advice you to take it to a local dealer for repair. They are not replacing the units for you but if there's a return policy from the supplier or store you bought it ask before you take it in.

Thumbs down to Pioneer, such an expensive controller we all should get a partial refund or at least something for free.

get this. we have to pay to ship it back to pioneer for them to do some cheap wokr around fix. this is the biggets crime ever. They screwed up and we have to pay. Unreal. Just recall these units and do the right thing pioneer. What a joke.

For the majority of users, the firmware update will address the problems with the microphone distortion.  For those who are not satisfied with the improvements there, you can send your unit for servicing with Pioneer. There is no recall necessary.
