Rekordbox pitch range

 Hello,

is there an option that rekordbox doesn't change the pitch range when pushing the sync button.

It is absolutely uncomfortable when you are pitching back to zero when you think that you are in 8% pitch range and rekordbox changed it to wide.

Thanks a lot,

Mike

You guys know there's a reason it does that, right?

Ian Laverick

What reason? I really don't get it.

Pulse

Because the difference in pitch was outside of the range you selected (say 15% when you had 6% engaged), it had to jump to a WIDE so it would allow you to sync the decks and then adjust the pitch with a software-pickup.

Ian Laverick

Yes I get that part but why when I switch SYNC off does it not go back to the original pitch range.

If I SYNC something on Serato DJ to say +30% when I switch sync off because I don't want to play it that fast it drops the pitch back to where it would be in accordance with the pitch fader and puts the range back to the user setting e.g. 8% 10%

Pulse

And when you switch OFF the sync, that deck doesn't jump back to 0%; it stays where it was until you perform a software pickup.

Ian Laverick

I never said it jumped back to 0%?

On Rekordbox switch off the Sync it stays at the pitch it was at eg +30% and the range stays on wide

On Serato DJ switch off the sync and the pitch will change to match the location of the pitch faded but within the original pitch range e.g. +/- 10%

Pulse

That's exactly my point; you never moved the fader from that 0% point, but thanks to the sync, it had to jump the pitch of that player to +30% in order to match. You even say it yourself - the original pitch range was less than the pitch of the deck, and as rekordbox isn't Serato, it works slightly differently. The pitch range will extend itself to a range wide enough to encompass the new pitch, so you could then use the soft pick-up to move the pitch to that position in order to change it.
