DDJ-1000 + Rekordbox, NO SOUND

When I run rekorxbox on it's own the sound plays fine on my laptop's speakers but the moment I plug in my DDJ-1000 there is no sound anywhere! I still set the audio to built-in output like then it's not plugged in but no matter what I do there is no sound anywhere until I unplug it and restart rekordbox with the DDJ unplugged. I do not have any speakers plugged in to the DDJ but even if I plug in my headphones I still can't hear a thing from anywhere.

Edit: I bought speakers and there is still no sound at all! I have all the latest plugins installed.
