Making "Analyze Track" actually rescan the music files

Hi all, another quickie

I have made a few edits of tracks that I have (mashups, cutting out sections of the breakdowns, changing the structure slightly etc etc) and then re saving the exported audio over the original edits I made.

When I then try to re-scan these audio files in Rekordbox, it doesn't show the changes, but just rescans the original track, which although exists as a filename, doesn't exist as an actual track.

Is there anyway to make RB actually re-read the actual file, without having to delete and re-import?

When you create a new file, it must be imported and analyzed and any cue points, hot cues, etc. will need to be re-added.

wait so you are editing a track that is already imported and analyzed to the RB library? here is a solution... make a copy of the file before editing and then import the new file with a new edit name and prosper [instead of searching for a user caused problem to complain about].

@Samuel.

When I am editing a track already existing in rekordbox and I replace the original file with the newly edited file (with same Name), I have to Analyse the track again by using normal or dynamic mode. Usually I do this by double click the track in the library and select it in the waveform view.

In case you updated the ID tag make sure you refresh the tag in rekordbox.

This works for me and changes are shown in the waveform as well.

@Bud - Thanks sugar. I didn't complain it was a problem, I was asking if it was possible without deleting and re-loading the track, that's all. Good input though buddy, keep it up.

@Frank - OK thanks, so you do have to delete, replace, then re-analyze?

Frank Richter

@Samuel.

I replaced the file physically on the hardisk but I didn't deleted it from the rekordbox library. However you have to re-analyse it as rekordbox don't see the changes automatically.

That worked for me.
