ddj sx2 platters are responding very slow

using mac 10.10.5 8 gb notebook pro early 2015.when trying to use platters they respond very slow.i can actually spin the platter around 4 complete times before the position indicator on the screen goes around once.therfore I cant scratch or spin back with control.i tried changing the sensitivity and latency settings but no change.
