XDJ RX2 no windows audio

I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas, it outputs sound from rekordbox when linked with it in performance mode, but will not output any sound when rekordbox is not linked , and no audio output when rekorbox is not open (ie. standard pc audio output) my rekordbox preferences do not have the master out option.

I can set my windows audio out to RX2 Line ou l, and in windows the level meter from the control panel shows a signal , but no sound from the unit.

Am i missing something?
