DJ INTERFACE 2 DRIVER ISSUE

Hi I'm running Hi Sierra on a 2012 Macbook pro had no issues with serato or other progs before.

I didn't click allow on the DJ IF2 driver first time when the security block came up. I've since uninstalled/restarted/reinstalled drivers etc multiple times but I can't get the routing setting to recognise control hardware as my Technics 1210's, it's stuck on CDJs.

Can you help?

@Safwon > You can troubleshoot the driver installation by opening the System Information application and looking under Software > Disabled Software. If there's anything listed there, it's still blocked.

If your input selector switch on the back of the IF2 is set to LINE, the option will never be turntable. Check that first.

Thanks for this. I switched to phone and have selected turntables now. Nothing is appearing on the calibration tool though and the virtual deck just shows the wave from slipping slowly backwards

Pulse

Can you post a screenshot of your DVS calibration screen?

Pulse

Have you tried adjusting the ZOOM manually to see if perhaps it's just too big?

Safwon Suleyman

yes it has no effect. also when clicking L/R PA Balance it comes up with error

Safwon Suleyman

Here zoom is at max with platter spinning. Also error! showing under calibration

Pulse

Have you checked that your cartridge / headshell are wired properly, and that you're getting L and R signal from the turntables?

Pulse

That single vertical line tells me one of the L/R is not connected properly.

Safwon Suleyman

I’ve used the rca straight out the box and it’s the same on both deck 1 and 2 connected to either of the left/right on the IF2 box

Pulse

I'm 99% sure it's the cartridge / headshell or the wiring; the vertical signal is one channel, the horizontal is the other. When only a line shows, that means it's not getting both L & R signal.

Safwon Suleyman

So now the right deck is playing in reverse and after briefly workling the left deck is producing a warbled sound and now has a horizontal line through the calibration

Pulse

Reverse means you have the L/R inputs reversed, either on the RCAs from the turntable or the headshell is not wired correctly.

The flat line still means you're missing one of the channels completely; check the wiring again.

Pulse

Vertical line means it's only receiving R signal.

Horizontal line means it's only receiving L signal.

Hiya,

Thanks for your help and speedy replies yesterday.

So the phono/line selector on the back of the unit was definitely part of the problem but I discovered that the RCA from my deck had lost the metal casing on the connector pin and it was still stuck in the port of the Serato box!

I put the rca and it pulled out the broken metal tip and both are now snugly in the IF2. I will in future replace the RCA for the turntable but it's working for now. Thanks!

Pulse

Glad to hear you got that sorted -- enjoy!
