Recording with RMX 1000

Hello,

I would like to record a DJ set with the following setup:

Pioneer XDJ-RX2 with a Pioneer RMX 1000. Usually I record my sets with an usb plugged into the RX2 using the record function. However, this way it doesn’t seem to record the effects added by the RMX 1000.

I’ve did some research and tried recording with Audacity. However, it doesn’t work. Could anyone here provide me with a detailed instruction on how to record a DJ set with the RX2 and the RMX 1000? Including what cables I need, where to put them etc. etc.

Thanks in advance!

You need a way to get the output from the RMX back into your computer -- and unfortunately the XDJ-RX2 doesn't have that capacity. Consider using a separate audio interface to take the signal from the RX2 > RMX > interface > recording software.

By a separate audio interface you mean something like Audacity? In that case, how do I connect the RMX to that interface? Audacity doesnt seem to recognize the RMX 1000. More specifically, the step from RMX > interface > recording software still seems unclear to me.

Thanks again!

No, like a sound card - another input to receive the audio into your computer. Audacity is simply the software that can capture the audio coming into that device.
