If you've read the rekordbuddy documentation, it highlights this fact. When you make changes within rekordbuddy, the XML file changes, and thus the rekordbox library reloads and requires re-analysis.

You can manually drag-drop tracks into rekordbox, but you lose all of your grid and hot cues by doing so, thus rekordbuddy is a good way to get a highly-customized collection from Serato > rekordbox.

There is an alternative to Rekordbuddy, the DJ Conversion Utility (and yes I'm the author of it). Both DJCU and RBuddy will do the job of converting from Serato to Rekordbox equally well. The biggest difference is DJCU is lead up by any selection of crates where RB is more a collection manager. 

DJCU can even go a step further. If you use iTunes integration in both Rekordbox and Serato you can use DJCU to convert only the tracks that have been modified after a given date, effectively creating a sync between Serato and Rekordbox without having to import everything.  The base Serato to Rekordbox tutorial is here but there are many more in the YT channel https://youtu.be/q5aob6ToRco

Thanks I actually purchased both RekordBuddy and DJCU ..... I need to be able to add and modify crates at times as well not just add songs but if I can add new songs that may suffice and can change my workflow........I also don't use iTunes but seems that might be the way to go. Thank I'll watch video ...am on the verge of selling my Pioneer DDJ 1000 :-( Thanks a span ... I also have music on both internal and external hard drive but have stopped using external for now as it even more complicated to get it into the workflow

Thank you for your business a few bullet points for you to consider:

• I strongly advocate using external drives for storing your tracks. For either Serato, iTunes (with the correct settings) and Rekordbox it doesn't matter where tracks are stored. DJCU will automatically find them on all mounted volumes (even if they are in the cloud or in my case on a fileserver). Having them external makes you much more flexible, easier to maintain backups, and keeps your internal (SSD) for the OS and applications.
• Only if a track's filepath changes it needs to be re-analzyed by Rekordbox. So rule of thumb don't rename or move tracks once they are introduced to your collection (iTunes is an exception to this that's why I recommend it as the collection manager of choice among many other reasons).
• (simplified version) There is a quirk in Rekordbox that makes importing a Rekordbox.xml into a Rekordbox collection a drag. This is why it's so important to poinpoint the conversion as good as possible in order to keep the generated XML as slim as possible. I'm in close contact with the Rekordbox engineering team about this problem and have faith this will be solved it in one of the next updates.
• If you are going to tweak your workflow a bit, there are however some things you need to be aware off in order to make this painless. Watch this video where is explain how my workflow works, there is a time index in the remarks. You'll have to see through the fact that I use Traktor instead of Serato. I strongly advice you to watch the whole begin where I explain how things work when it comes to iTunes and Rekordbox for instance.
