Beat locking

I used to own a pair of Prime 4 and when you get your beats in line. you can skip to sections of the track without the beats going out of sync. 

I am struggling with the rx3 because I am used to mixing and transitioning using this method. now I can't find it people tell me it's the quantize but tried with 1/2 1/4 settings. I aline my beats, to locate the midtro of a song. and it just slips out of beat every time.
