XDJ-R1 freezing with noise when playing a CD

I posted this earlier today but it looks like it never showed up.  A couple years ago I had the freezing with noise issue when playing from a flash drive and the firmware update took care of it.  Lately I have been having the same issue but while a CD is playing.  It is completely random as to when it happens.  I do have a flash drive plugged in at the time but I am not cuing any tracks from it.  Any help is appreciated.
