Output to Single Speaker? Mono? DDJ RX + Rekordbox
Hi,
I'm running a DDJ RX with a single active Electro Voice Loudspeaker (EV EKX 15P). The back of the speaker looks like:
- I presume I want to just set the output to mono and use a single XLR from the L output of the RX to the input on the speaker? Is this correct?
- If so, what do I need to change in Rekordbox to make the sound output correctly?
Thanks,

OLAH Sam. You just need to connect the Master Output 2 (from DDJ-RX) to RCA Input speaker with a RCA cable L+ R
Take care
Hi, can I not use the single XLR? That's the only cable type I have at the moment.
Thanks
OLAH Sam. Yes you can use just one XLR but you will listen only one channel L or R. You also can use a cable in Y (like image) to have a mono connection.
Take care,
Thanks for getting back.
Is this definitely the only way to do it?
I've always been under the impression to avoid Y splitters with audio.
After messing about with Rekordbox, could I not do this and just use a single XLR?
(set both left and right output to come out of the L master output.)
With previous software/hardwards I've always just plugged a single xlr into the L master output and changed a setting within my dj software to mono.
Thanks
OLAH Sam again. Probably i am a romantic DJ cause i am always searching the best quality of sound in my sets. That is my preferences but you can have the sound in mono if you want.
I think if you assign the DDJ-RX Master L or DDJ-RX Master R to both outputs & turn the selector master balance to the left or to the right, it will works. Sorry i can't check cause i don't have got this set at home
Take care
