[CLOSED] DJM850: USB driver chip/specs

If I want to record via USB, I need to have the driver as supplied by Pioneer.

As I'm a linux guy, I obviously don't want to use windows (not to mention apple products). So I found out that the USB chip itself is being recognized

(USB device 08E4:0163 DJM-850) -- however not seen by audacity.

In order to be able to get it supported in linux, can you tell me which chip exactly is used? There is no need for fancy stuff Just being able to use the mixer as a record source and to be able to feed back sound to one of the 4 channels.

@Roeland > I have a reply from the engineer:

Sorry, DJM-850 does not support Linux.

Also, any generally-used USB LSI is not used in this product.

I am n ot asking for support. I want information which  chip is used so that people can dig up the specs/programming stuff.

really, you don't want people to force to use windows. (or apple)

Gavin

@Roeland > I understand that and I'm working on something for Linux users at the moment. I'll keep you updated.
