DJM250mk2 & Rekordbox DVS NOT WORKING

HI,

I recently bought the DJM-250MK2 to use with Rekordbox DVS. I have my Numark TT250USB going into the mixer. When I plug the turntable into the phono input of the channels it's over amplified and really distorted. Rekordbox won't let me change the input decks from CH1&2 Control Tone PHONO. 

In the line input vinyls sound good through the mixer but the phono input sound horrible. How can I control Rekordbox DVS using the line input? I have the mixer drivers installed and up to date but the software doesn't seem to recognise there is a turntable plugged into the mixer.

Where does the problem lie?
