do i need to use a hub?
can i just plug each 2000 into separate USB ports on my laptop (i have plenty of ports)

No, you don't need a hub if you have at least 3 free (2 x CDJ & 1 x SL interface) USB ports on your laptop.
@DubLN > As a matter of fact, you'll probably encounter less issues by not using a hub!
