When will the replacement for the CDJ-2000 be released?

I believe the CDJ-2000 was released end-2009, meaning it's been out for 2 years now.  Does anyone know enough about Pioneer schedules to guess when the CDJ-2000 replacement will be released?

I'd say you have 1 to 2 more years until you see updated CDJ-2k hardware. As previously stated, the 1000s had around 3 years between each hardware revision and that time-frame gets extended when you deal with hardware that can be (and is) regularly tweaked through firmware updates.

If you need new gear - buy it. If you constantly wait for the next version, you will wait forever. You still have time and the 2000s are an incredible bit of kit. Pioneer gear also holds it's value really well if you take care of it - even with generation-old models. Selling my 1000s largely deferred the cost of picking up my 2000s.

as far as "problems" go with the 2000s - Here is my view: These decks are the most advanced and connected model that Pioneer has ever made. This has created some interesting support hurdles because they are being used in conjunction with such a wide array of different products - different computers, network cards, switches, routers, etc. Not having a "standard" setup inherently creates more issues. Particularly with people that are not savvy with networking. They also are being used mostly with compressed audio files from hundreds of different sources which has also been a source of support frustration. While I'll admit that the players are not without fault, much of the frustration regarding the players is self-inflicted. (and the whole MT thing would be solved if people would just turn it off and mix within reasonable BPM ranges instead. call me old school!)

Speculation and rumour talk is a no-no; we announce new gear when we announce it.
