rekordbox & ddj-rb - 2 small questions about vinyl mode and license
Hello!
I'm thinking about purchasing a DDJ-RB as a backup unit. There are 2 questions left:
1. The manual speaks about a "Vinyl-Mode" on the JOG-Wheels. However, there is no button for it on the unit. Can the "Vinyl-Mode" be enabled in the rekordbox-settings (like the Crossfader on other units) or is this an error in the manual and the DDJ-RB doesn't provide a "Vinyl-Mode"...
2. The DDJ-RB is supplied with a bundled rekordbox license key. Can I use the same key in a club providing CDJs or do I have to put the CDJs away and use the RB because the license is limited to the RB?
TIA!

2. The license is not limited to the device but to your computer/account. If you change your controller (or use CDJ/DJM setup) - the license will apply. The only time you'd need to buy a further license is if you wanted to use the DVS side of things and use a timecoded CD in the CDJs.
I was surprised that the device doesn't have a hardcoded license and can unlock the software - eg if you sold the device on, the person buying it wouldn't need to buy a separate license. But in case like the above, having a separate license has it's benefits.
1. DDJ-RB is always "Vinyl-Mode" and no button off it. If you want to be disable it, keyboard shortcut is only solution. You can customize the assignment at [Preferences]>[Keyboard] as you wish.
