Rmx Effect are not coming through???

hi guys, i only got my RMX today, an have been looking forward to this for 5 weeks , so i finally got it, an i have set up :-) i have the 1/4 Mono Jack (Male) inputs an outputs (left & right) an they are plugged in as shown in the diagram to my dim 800, so i turned on traktor to have a little play around, an i noticed that the Rmx was able to detect the Bmp of the tune an the levels where all showing, but when i went to turn on a effect, there was no change in the music?? all the buttons are switched on, X-pad, Input etc etc, but i cannot get the effect to make any actually effect through the speaker??? does anyone know why this is, or what the problem is??

do i need to change anything in preferences?? i thought it might of been cause Im using the master output from the mixer to the amp, an not using XLR cables to the amp, i hope this makes sense peeps,
