@Andrew > As drivers are not required for the DDJ-SB2 when connected to a Mac, all you need to do is connect it and launch the software.
Have you checked in the Audio MIDI Setup application (found under Applications > Utilities) to see if the device shows there?
Which software are you using?
I have the same problem so its not just you. As I have googled this issue it seems that it is very common.
I have done everything possible and nothing works. Pioneer is no help at all. Horrible tech support!! If I cant get connected today I am returning and will just upgrade to Numark
@robin > Have you tried different computers or USB cables?
I did try that. BF is DJ of over 25 years so connecting DJ equipment is nothing new. I did get it to work today finally.... Uninstalled EVERYTHING associated and reinstalled drivers first from Pioneer website, then downloaded DJ INTRO and came right up. Previously I had done Serato DJ Intro first then drivers. Not even sure it matters but worked for me
Im having the same problem but on windows and I cant find anything on the internet to fix it, just bought this ddj-sb2 today and I'm getting kind of upset
@Jon > Are you using the latest driver, found here?
@robin > I'm glad you were able to get it working, but as previously noted, on a Mac, there are no drivers to download or install. What was it you installed?
I went to the pioneer site and downloaded the drivers for the SB2. This was not on a MAC but a windows computer.
@jon
Is this on a Mac or windows computer?
If windows follow what i did above....
I'm blown away that this is an issue that has not been addressed. I am having the same problem connecting to my Mac. OS 10.9.5 I should be good to go.
Serato DJ (not intro) recognizes that I have connected the SB2, it says it will take about a minute, then it fails. There is no resource on this. Would love a fix...
@Dave > Try a different USB cable, try a different USB port, check your firmware and software is up-to-date.
I have tried 2 cables, including the new one that came with it. Serato DJ is up to date, but I can't find anything for a firmware update that is Mac related. Do you have a link for a firmware update?
I have also restarted my computer 3 times. I'll update to elCapitan if I must, but is that required?
This is the link for the driver that worked for me... But this was on a windows computer

@Dave > Did you also try a different USB port on your Mac? If that doesn't work try updating to El Cap now that all the bugs have been worked out.
I'm on a mac. i have unplugged and re plugged in usb in different ports, i have checked midi settings, i have checked sound settings. What do i do????
Go to pioneer and install the drivers then replug everything. Thats what finally worked for me. I was NOT on a Mac tho but i do believe that i saw options on pioneer ddj page for Mac
pioneer doesnt have options for downloading anything for mac
I just kept uninstalling and installing then replugging and eventually it worked. Its anazing that this a such a common issue abd Pioneer has done nothing to fix it.
I was so frustrated with it i was ready to return it to the store and get a Numark controller. It was an xmas gift for teenager who was anxious to try it out and took forever to get started.
i'm sitting here like wtf. i got it in the mail today and took a day off work to start playing with it. Why is this product still on the market when there is so many problems???????
I actually wondered the same thing when it had me so mad
please help before i drink bleach
The problems are almost always with the computer the unit is used with; if you are having problems, please create your own post so we can properly support each user.
Im sure it isnt computer related. I used 3 different laptops
i tried 4 computers and its the same thing...
I tried a computer that is used for DJ'n 3 or 4 events a week and has never been logged on to the internet and it didnt work.. works fine with Technics 1200s and Numark NS7
1 year later, still no definitive answer. time to sell this junk for a newmark :)
@swg hnna > You've never posted before - how is it you're saying "1 year later" ??
Update: (apologies for not posting this earlier)
I updated to elCapitan and the problem resolved for me. 2 weeks ago I was working with another DJ who had this exact same issue and updating the iOS on his Mac solved it.
If you are on a Mac, update your operating system and you will be fine.
