@Benny > Were you able to resolve the issue? If you're having problems with Windows 10 Build 1803, it could be due to a change in the Intel Turbo Boost performance setting.
@David > Did you disable the driver security when installing the drivers? If not, you'll need to run the installer, disable the driver security, then install the drivers again for it to actually install them.
I have the same issue right now, running high sierra right now. v10.13.4
Try using another laptop with an older version of Sierra... I have a pc and it updated to a new version of Windows 10... Now I must reset to previous version before the update... Good luck
I am currently resetting windows back to 1709 where it use to work ... Fingers crossed...
It connects, but when I'm connected to Serato v2.0.3. Serato sees it connected, but I receive this message after a a couple of minutes "Error: Failed to connect MIDI Device"
Additionally, I tried using MIDI monitor to see if the computer and controller is communicating, however, there isn't any communication at all.
@David > Try this... disconnect the SX2, open Audio MIDI Setup, go to the MIDI Studio window and find the SX2 on the screen.
Select it and click the - icon at the top.
Connect the SX2 and click the curvy arrow icon if it doesn't appear. Close Audio MIDI Setup and launch Serato to see if it works as expected.
Is it possible to get a link for the DDJ SX2 driver for Mac somewhere else because I don't see it in the "Package Contents" in Serato?
link to download*
Drivers are not required; it functions as a CoreAudio device.
Did you follow my instructions above?
@Pulse Yes I did, now the MIDI Setup recognize it as PIONEER DDJ-SX2 2IN2OUT now and not just PIONEER DDJ-SX2. See screenshots.
Can you check the unit's forced-MIDI mode? See page 23 of the user manual to check / change the configuration.
Set to forced MIDI mode. It shows up as PIONEER DDJ-SX2 now on the Audio Midi Setup, but I still get the error message on Serato for "Failed: to Connect MIDI Device!"
Nonono -- you DON'T want it forced; it should be in the default (Serato) mode.
Have you rebooted the computer recently?
Yes, I rebooted a few times.
Is there a way to Factory Reset it?
I feel like it communicates with RekordBox better, because Play, CUE, Jogger lights work--shows progress of song. However, buttons still doesn't communicate with it.
I did buy it used..........
Also, when I use RekordBox, it changes the device name to PIONEER DDJ-SX2 2IN2OUT in Audio MIDI Setup
Yeah, that's normal due to the audio config. Are the buttons working properly with rekordbox?
No it's not working, It's not sending anything to the program when I press anything--play/pause, CUE, etc. Not sure if these screenshots would help? but this is what I see in the settings.
I am back in business ... Reset my pc to 1609... Everything is working good .... Made sure to turn off all automatic updates ..
Looks like 1803 is breaking more things... I'll pass that along, thanks.
@Benny > Could you please provide your computer details?
- make / model (if it's an off-the-shelf machine)
- CPU
- RAM
- graphics chipset
Thanks!
I have a HP ENVY X360 notebook
12gb ram & 1tb rom .... i5-7200u cpu @ 2.50 GHz 2.71 GHz... 64 bit os x64 based processor... Now Running windows 10 1607 os build 14393.187....
Bought it brand new 2/2017
@Benny > Sorry for the delay, our support team had to try and track down a similar computer to test... they've asked you to try the following:
1. Install the DDJ-SX2 driver to the computer.
2. Connect the computer to the DDJ-SX2.
3. Run rekordbox and open the Audio tab from Preferences.
4. Take a screenshot of the Audio tab and attach it to the forum page.
* Be sure to take a screenshot where ”Pioneer DDJ_SX2 ASIO” is shown in Audio.
I have resolved my issue back in late May / early June... It was the update on Windows... It updated to 1.8 which it did not allow to recognize the ddj sx2... I down graded to 1607 version and it is working perfectly fine .... I use Serato Dj software.... Thank you for checking in on this matter
