FIREWIRE DRIVE - DOES REKORDBOX RECOGNISE THEM ???

just bought a 1tb external hard drive to export rekordbox files to. I have a mac mini so bought a Lacie Rugged drive with Firewire 800 & 400  and USB 2.0 connections. It sees the drive when connected via USB but not when connected with firewire. I was hoping the firewire would assist in significant speed improvements when exporting music to a hard drive, i got the dual port version so it can then connect later to the CDJ2000 via USB. Can Rekordbox recognise and export via Firewire. Looking forward will it also recognise Thunderbolt drives
