[SOLVED] White and Red Jog Wheel Lights
Hi guys
just purchased 2 CDJ2000's and a DJM900 :) and set them up, networked with a switch etc and have them working ok
but
(not sure if this is a bug or not?) one jog wheel light white and the other CDJ wheel light red - is this normal or should they both be white?
I am v4.05 firmware for both CDJs
it stays red no matter if i put a cd in it or not or play a linked track from other CDJ. not connected to any laptops etc just the 2 CDJs, DJM900
thanks in advance for any assistance

also both swithces are set at cd/line on the nexus
not using any dj software
any shot of you shooting a quick video of the setup and everything working, maybe it's something small your missing that we can catch in the video.
you have audio coming out everything off the master too?
You also need to enable the on-air in the settings.
it is already Pulse, it was mentioned in a previous post.
Ah, I found that... I'm still chocking it up to something in the setup... you know, one of those infamous "user error" situations? ;)
lol,,, yeah, a video would be nice just to see the whole situation
Always. I love blurry videos where the camera moves so fast you can't really tell what you just saw! :D Seriously tho, make a vid for us @F14.
workin on the video...heres another concern....on my hub/switch, when the jog wheels were once changing to red when working properly, the switch had a totally random light flashing pattern..now it flashes all in unison on the switch. now my cdjs arent turning red...so weird
did you try rebooting everything?
yes..at least 3 times
k, we will wait on video :)
i wouldn't worry on the lights pattern, as long as the decks can link and you can share drives between the decks, you should be good, you have the DJM900 plugged in to via ethernet right?
@F14 > Does the hub/switch have any management software on it?
Are you able to access a connected device on 1 CDJ, by using the other CDJ?
I'd recommend to double check you LAN connections and make sure they are fully connected to each deck and your 900, as well the other ends fully inserted into the switch.
As @BriChi mentioned, make sure your gains are turned up on your channels, same as your master, and your EQ is at 12 O'clock if you're using the Isolator. Lastly, disable the crossfader on all channels just in case. ;)
I've mentioned before in other threads that the LAN cables play a pretty big part in the setup, I've found to have misc. problems come up with the cat.2 cables supplied by pioneer, I went out and got fresh cat.5's and have had no problems since. I would also ask what kind of hub are you using? I'm using a gigabit switch and found the cat.2 cables supplied wouldn't even allow the decks/RB to recognize each other, let alone have the lights light up on the switch... New cables did the trick, I'd perhaps check the cables as maybe a probable shot?
WOW! It was the EQ!!...well now I know! whew! thank you @BRICHI @FOSTER@DFORM@PULSE...Man I was about to lose it! You guys were all a great help for something so simple I should have caught. Happy spinin fellas!
Sorry not the EQ fellas...the master volume!
awesome, glad you figured it out man, enjoy!
holy smokes, im having the same problem. its too late right now, but I will try tomorrow. only one Cdj lights up red when activated by the channel fader. I will switch the isolator and change the.settings on the Cdj to match the channel its connected to. IM using two Cdj 2000 & Djm 900 nexus.
okay, so I just manually setted the Cdj and now the roles are reveresed. Now the other Cdj lights up red when activated by the channel 2 fader and the other doesnt respond to any fader.
By the way, I am Cesar Moreno and crimson Twins. I changed our profile name just now.
@Cesar > Welcome to the forums - I apologise for the delay.
Ok, lets start from scratch - have you both players and the mixer connected up via a network switch?
Second, with everything turned on, I would disconnect the network cables then connect up one player at a time - ensure you have the On Air Display in the [MENU - Utility] section activated.
@Gavin---> The problem was the CDJ was not assigned to the specific channel and so I manually changed them and that solved the problem. They are all connected by etherlink port switch.
I love the CDJ's!!
@Cesar > Great! Thanks for letting me know you were successful.
